Forgotten Gulf dispatches form Mobile and Dauphin Island

Here on Dauphin Island we are intimately familar with tropical storms.  The vernacular becomes part of your DNA when you live in such a region.

Gustave was a minimally destructive storm for most of the island.  Only the far West End and the most south eastern tip was really impacted.  The majority of homes are protected by the "Mother Dune" and see no flooding and minimal high winds.

So far we have been lucky or blessed again.
